Calder Preyer: “I thought to myself – I love drinking beer; I should make it.”
Bio: Calder spent the last 10 years brewing beer at home and going to Chicago’s Siebel Institute for brewing beer.
Today, he is the brewmaster of Preyer Brewing, a local brewery he owns with his brothers, wife and parents. “It’s part art, it’s part science,” says Calder. Brewing beer is finding the perfect balance between chemistry, biology, recipe formulation and technique.
