When Emmanuel was a teenager, he went through lots of hard family situations. He needed an escape. That’s when he turned to dance. Emmanuel describes his love with dance as being a safe haven.
Growing up, he didn’t have the money to pay for dance lessons so he would watch YouTube videos to try to pick things up from there. He would also dance with his cousin each summer.
Emmanuel is now a senior at UNCG studying dance concentrating on performance and choreography. He loves all styles of dance but is most experienced in hip-hop and contemporary styles. Emmanuel also teaches dance classes at Artistic Motion.
